上の歌詞、Hall & Oates の好きな曲「Head avobe water」なんだけど、たまたま歌詞を検索していたら、「keep (one's) head avobe water」という慣用句があるそうで、その意味は「借金せずに生きて行く」という意味だという事を、今日初めて知った。
今まではなんとなく、「溺れてしまわないように、もがき続けるのは大変だ」みたいな解釈を勝手にイメージしていたんだけど、こんな裏があったとは・・・
身に沁みる。
